Funny as my Miata has accurate readings. Maybe because I drive it with top down 99% of the time ?

I parked my ESH outside today and just took it out for an errand. I noticed the temperature reading was initially a couple of degrees higher from sitting. However once I drove after a few minutes the temperatures corrected itself to the outside temperature matching the temperature on the weather app.

What was the outside temperature that was matched?

I use my body as a temperature gauge. Do I feel hot? It's hot. The car's temp display is just there as a supplement or backup. I really don't think it's anything to worry about. Too many variables outdoors and too many variables with how a person describes and reports back to a forum as to what he is perceiving. In other words, it's not really worth discussing beyond anything casual.

I reserve the right to discuss anything that seems worthwhile to me on a discussion board.

BTW, I apply the same principle to the other gauges and readouts on my dashboard as well. Who needs a speedometer? I can sense when I'm going fast.

Thanks. 90 degrees here. Gauge read 80 when I left the garage a couple of hours ago. Creeped up to 85 over the next 45 minutes. That’s fairly typical. Maybe slightly better performance than usual.

I was on the highway today and I had to turn on the A/C because I felt hot. Does that mean that it's actually hot out or does the car really know the temperature? Hmmmm

LOL

I've never "turned on" the AC. AUTO all the way.
