Special/Custom Order
@UltraLux22 I appreciate the breakdown of what a special order can entail. I recall reading your exact same post earlier in this thread or in another, it's very good information and much appreciated.
With the information provided I have apparently two options that were given to me, with a request-to-build order in and waiting on approval. Otherwise, the allocated vehicle should be coming in next month and will most likely be the vehicle I purchase. The only thing that would hold me back from purchasing the allocated vehicle is if I hear an update on my request-to-build order. The interesting thing about the allocated vehicle is that it has an option that is no longer available on the Lexus website, intuitive parking. I haven't seen it for some time.

It's there but it's not what you think it is I am betting. It confused me too. That refers to the sensors that beep when you get too close to objects. Whether in the front or back. That's the simplistic answer. I can't rembmer the exact definitions of the feature. BUt tha is what it boils down to. It's intuitive parking with brake assist. I believe.
I believe the only difference from standard parking sensors and this package is the automatic braking? I find it ridiculous that intuitive parking with brake assist isn't standard on a $50k vehicle, but oh well. I certainly don't rely on sensors, but it's a nice feature to have.
I forget what trim's you were in line for.
In my experience, I have found that the most popular build specs for the ES are the Prem. and Lux packages. Typically that feature is included so while I am sure eventually down the road even base models will probably have this feature as standard. But in practical terms, it will probably be on the car you will choose anyway. :-)

On Lux and Ultra Lux it's included but you are right, you must pay $2,410* to upgrade to the premium package. to get that feature.

I'm in line for an F Sport trim. Yes I'm definitely not going for the norm and F sports in general are hard to find around here in the Bay Area. I found one, test drove it, thought about it for a week and it was gone, but it wasn't in the color I want, so no missed opportunity there. I love the aesthetics of the trim, so I'm going for it. Lose out on a few luxuries, my biggest gripe being memory seat, but I can overlook that.
I didn’t know that the F Sport trim doesn’t have the memory seats. I’ve noticed that the Lexus dealerships up here in my area in New England all have the ES F Sport on their lots. They sell very quickly though probably because most of the F Sports are a pre purchased allocation.
As for intuitive parking assist, I guess that was an option for the F sport trim before but it was removed. It's a $550 option I believe. I have my Vspec sheet on my computer, but not on my phone.

Well said, the bigger screen is nicer but 2k nicer....eh. You definetely picked some great choices and cut some of the fat like the Heads Up Display. Just curious since you mentioned being in NoVA, do you go to Pohanka or Lindsey? I go to the former and big fans of them, they are super nice
