So let me get this straight. I RS my car with a fob - not smartphone. Heated seats come on along with the heated steering wheel. Climate control is on AUTO where I always leave it.
Front and rear defrosters do not come on unless I select them by hand. For those of you that state that they come on with RS, is that by smartphone? Maybe that's the difference. Or, are they turned on and left on when you park the car so that they come on when you restart the car. I have the same car as many of you and don't get the difference...

It is snowing here in northern Delaware this morning and my car is parked outside. I have just tested starting the vehicle from key fob and then again using the app. Both times peeping through the front window I can see both of my front and rear defrosters are on. I have the 2019 ES300h Lux.

They come on with EITHER fob or app remote start.

Yesterday it was 60 degrees and sunny and I was out cruising in my Miata top down. Historically here in February is the coldest month of the year. Now we had a bunch of days where temps were in the high 50s which is unusual. It looks we will get another wild swing next week.

Yeah looks like we're through the worst of the winter with just a few cold days early this week then another big warmup at the end of the week. Then a major league rain which we desperately need to wash this darn salt off the roads.

OK my fellow members. I carefully checked out the process of remote starting and then checking to see if the front and rear defrost was illuminated. Both did come on with the RS.
However, when I opened the door the engine stopped as normal, and when I restarted the car the defrosters were off. I had to hand select both to start them. Seats and steering wheel remained on. Is this how they work for everybody else?

That sounds right because the seats and steering wheel have AUTO settings so they will remain on if the temp calls for it. Defrosters on the other hand do not operate in any AUTO mode so makes sense you'd have to turn them back on after restart if you so desire.

How exactly do I make this work? What settings and where to enable?

I just got the car yesterday...had remote starter installed today. I'm in Canada...2019 ES 350 Premium package.

AUTO for climate control, seats and steering wheel. Set temp and forget it.

So, I have tried setting my a/c to auto, seats and steering wheel to auto...

I have used the remote start and the rear defrost is not enabled.

What am I missing here? I am in Canada, it is very cold outside, I have the temp set to 28 Celsius in the car... rear defrost is not enabled when the car starts.

???

Default Possible Solution For 2022+ Models.

I have a 2025 NX 450h+. You can set the Climate Settings in the App for 2022 Models. For those with the old Infotainment Enform system, for Remote Start it defaults to the last setting when you were in the car. See the thread below.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...l#post11823184

In Summary For vehicles equipped with Lexus Enform multimedia systems, the climate control will default to the last setting. You cannot adjust this remotely, but if you have turned off the air and the outside temperature is extremely warm or cold (less than 41°F or greater than 86°F), the system will turn on and set the temperature to 77°F. If the outside temperature is less than 41°F the front and rear defrosters will turn on.

For select model year 2022 and newer vehicles equipped with Lexus Interface multimedia systems, climate control can be remotely set via the Lexus app under the Remote Climate button within the Remote Services dashboard card. Remote Climate can set target temperatures such as heat and A/C, defrost controls, and seat/steering wheel warmers. You can review your vehicles features and capabilities within the Lexus app or refer to your Owner's Manual
