Does anyone install ambient light on the ES? I want to buy one and install on my car, and just find the below webside on Google.

Their ad says compatible with 2018 to 2021, which right off the bat, is wrong.

 

On some countries around the world the 7ES is sold since 2018 and they consider it as a 2018 model, not 2019 model like in the US.

 

There are several previous posts regarding installation of an aftermarket lighting kit. Do a search for "ambient light kit". IIRC you had to disassemble the dash, no instructions, and it was very complicated. Good luck...

 

Yep in Asia/ROW, our model came out in 2018 which is correct. So when shopping for mods, sometimes you'll have to type in 2018 for best results because a lot of mods come from Asia.

I contacted the sales person of this company, they told me that the products is fitted for 2018~2021, and the price is USD 200/set. The colors setting is via WeChat Mini Program, and they asked me to download the WeChat and register an account first, because there are some countries and area can not use the WeChat Normally, such as USA. I am considering buy it or not.

 

I wouldn't bother. I feel like that's something you're going to go "oh cool" for 5 min then it will get old after. Then you'll be asking yourself why you wasted $200.

It seems that the light is cool and more luxury on the car...

 

I have ambient lighting in my S class and it really gives the whole look of the interior an amazing feel. It's a shame Lexus doesn't have something like this as every other top tier luxury automaker has some sort of ambient lighting. May consider installing this in my wife's ES.

 

Except that's a downgrade for those w/ wood trim or most trims. notice how there's no closeups of the actual trim, so it looks like shiny pieces of black plastic. Most of the standard trim on the ES is textured whether wood or not. Also in the day time, you're going to see the white refrigerator plastic on the trim where the light comes out of, unlike on actual OEM stuff which shines down behind it and reflects. This isn't a clean mod, but if you do it, post pics. maybe it's nice.

 

We have the OEM ambient lighting in our 2020 ES 300h Luxury. I must turn the dash
dimmer to the max to create enough ambient lighting to be seen even when it is very dark.
We have 35% window tint so it is pretty dark inside at night. Since having the dash at
full bright is painful to me I have considered asking my window tint vendor for a instrument
panel sized scrap to fit over the screen.

 

The deluxe model of new ES is equipped with ambient light. And my car is the old one and without this function. This supplier told me that we can use the WeChat app to set the colors, total 64 colors and with breathing mode (colors change one by one).
