To avoid careless damage at the hands of thoughtless soccer moms in oversized vans, filthy greaseballs in beat up old pig-pens, jealous jerks beset with envy and simple, thoughtless, folks with way more important things on their minds than preserving my car’s beauty, I park far away from everyone—-all the way “in Montana,” as my wife says——-stay away from grocery cart return areas, don’t do any road rage stuff to anyone else in the parking lot and simply pray there’ll be no damage to my car when I return. Apparently, last year, that wasn’t enough. So I had Vista Print make this up for me. So far, it appears to have helped. No door dings on any of my cars since I started using it:
Unfortunately, that sticker looks worse than even a really bad ding. Also, what damage is it doing to your paint?
It’s just a simple, lightweight, soft bendable, thin vinyl magnetic thing that is harmless to the car. That’s what it’s made for. Comes right off and into the trunk when I leave. I’ve used it on the Lexus, on my Wife’s Audi and formerly on our Volvo. Never any harm to any of them in any way from using it on the cars. That’s what it was manufactured for.
No retribution’s from others, either.
It works for me. What else can I say.
To much messing around to take in and off and I wouldn’t
consider leaving it on permanently.
I like my my vinyl. It seems to be effective. Thanks anyhow.
Is that for real or a photoshop? If its real, you're begging some clown to do it intentionally.
With the mentality of people today that's exactly what I said... Some idiot would do it for spite... Lots of crazies out there... As I said previously, just park it away from the main body of cars...

It’s not photo shop. I’ve one for both sides since, a few years ago, some idiot thoughtlessly parked up close to me and then recklessly flung his door wide and chipped my paint and dented the door. Cost me nearly $300. So I figured I’d try the vinyl, which, of course, I easily remove and toss in the floor of the back seat when we leave. So far, no more dings. Hasn’t hurt the paint a bit. That’s what it’s made for.
I do park away but sometimes that’s just not enough. Yes, there are some evil minded people out there who would vandalize the car when they see the sign just for spite. But they probably would feel like vandalism simply when they see a beautiful car like mine parked under the bright mall lot parking lamps.
Just hope for the best, I guess.
Yeah as others have said this may appear enticing someone to ding your car purposefully. Best to fly under the radar. If I park in a situation where I think I could be dinged, I back my car in. My thinking is that this will convey that I am aware of and care about my car... enough to park differently. Guaranteed to work? By no means, but I think it tends to subtly put people on notice that there's a car guy (or gal). It just gives your car a bit more presence that may get someone to think twice before opening their door into yours. Just my theory. Maybe it worked maybe it hasn't but I've been able to stay ding free in my last three new cars, strangely.
I know with how big the ES is though, at some point it's going to get dinged.
