Default Lug Nuts

Does anyone know if the lug nuts are identical on all of our ES models regardless of wheel size? I am looking to replace my wheel locks and my search didn't produce any definitive word on this.

The wheel locks seem to be the same size across the board: 12mm x 1.50 Thread Size, 3/4" & 13/16" Hex

Terrific and thank you. I presume they're same color which is chrome? F Sport wheels as you know are a darker finish but I don't think the nuts are that color..

What I would check is the shape of the mounting surface on the lug nuts. I've found that certain non-OEM wheels use a lug nut with a tapered surface rather than the flat that is on the ES nuts even though the threads are the same. Lexus is probably using the same across the line but worth checking first.

All Toyota/Lexus vehicles use the "flat-style" mounting surface for the lug nuts. Aftermarket wheels usually require changing over to the tapered lugs.

The OP is smart in looking into this before buying the wrong locking lugs!

Unless I'm misunderstanding the OP, I think he actually wants to get rid of his locking lugs and replace them with regular lug nuts. .

I read it as the OP wants to replace his locking lugs, as though he/she lost the key, or something. Either way, the information provided is correct.

I merely want to replace them with the standard non locking lugs. I don't want the headache of worrying about the key becoming misplaced especially after it's been serviced. I found the oem part on ebay so all good to go.

All good? Not so quick...check out my post in Car Chat regarding fake "OEM" Toyota/Lexus parts! It's better to buy from a dealer to ensure you get Lexus quality parts.

Noted and thanks. The ebay seller I've purchased from in the past is actually a dealer that sells online.

For whatever it's worth, whenever I buy a new car with wheel locks, I immediately buy an extra key from McGard (about $25) and give this one to the service people, leaving the original key in the trunk.

Great idea...I always buy a spare as well! Too, once the wheels age a bit where they will no longer be desirable to thieves, I remove them and replace them with OEM, as the OP is wanting to do.

except for the supra which uses wheel bolts and if i'm not mistaken the LFA uses torx wheel bolts. could be other exceptions as well but havent fully looked into it.

I broke a key once and looked into how I could remove the lock lug nut without a key. It was so easy I realized that lock lug nuts provide zero deterrent to anyone interested in stealing your wheels. Anyone sleazy enough to steal your wheels certainly knows how to do it in a jiffy, locks or no locks.

All the more reason to do what I want to do!
