Windshield wiper problem
My driver side wiper has smeared the windshield on its return to the center ever since I took delivery of the car in May 2019. The blade has been changed twice each time I took the car in for service, and I also cleaned the wiper with alcohol on a cloth at the recommendation of the dealer. The right side wiper clears the window perfectly.
I have suggested to the service area that perhaps the wiper assembly is the problem, but they said that is not covered under the warranty. So I sent this message to the General Sales Manager who responded as follows:
"Thank you for reaching out to me with your service concern. I am sorry you are having difficulties with the wiper blade. If you could send me a video of the issue, I can forward this to our contact at Lexus and see if they would be willing to replace the assembly. Unfortunately, the assembly is only covered under warranty if it is directly failing, not just streaking. I know that is frustrating, so I will try to get a solution for you."
Has anyone else had such a problem, and found a solution?

Depending on the density of the smear, this could become a safety hazard by impeding visibility. I would think Lexus wouldn't require a customer to video the wiper blades in action if the Service Manager acknowledged the problem and attempted to fix it without success. Think about calling Lexus Customer Service directly to make sure your local dealer gets them involved.
From your post it seems that the problem isn't with the blade, it's with the arm. If the blade has been replaced twice without success, then there's another issue. I agree with Mike P that you must escalate the issue to get it resolved. For me, I can't stand a smeared wind screen and scrupulously keep mine clean and streak free. GOOD LUCK!
