OK boys and girls I need some advice for a change. Today, for the 3rd. time in two years, I used the nav system in the car. However I couldn't figure out how to have the map screen AND the radio on at the same time. When I selected the "radio" button the nav screen disappeared and I couldn't get it back. Is there a way to view both simultaneously? Still learning...

Press MAP on the console. Then you can select radio on the small screen with the music note. Or vice versa, you can have the map on the small screen and press radio to have it display on the big screen.
If you prefer to keep the map on the full screen, another option is to set the multimedia display at the left of the speedometer to the radio function. However, this just shows limited information such as station and what is playing..

I have the FSport with the floating cluster and always leave it in the center position - just looks better that way to me. Nav does also show up there though when in route and also on the HUD if you have that option.
Consider that the "hard keys" that you can actually touch: Map, Radio, Media, Menu display on the left side of the dash display.
"Soft keys" that are selected with the remote controller pad (or joystick in 2018-previous) control the right 1/3 screen display.
I like our 2020 ESh set up because I can just flick my right thumb along the control pad edge for MPG, music, inset Map choices.
Have you discovered the voice commands? Press speech, pause, "show weather map", "show weather forecast", "tune 93.1 FM"
Only misgiving so far is that Apple Car Play can only show one of many screens at a time. As mentioned you can put the media
source in the IP cluster by the Speedo but it only displays channel info, not song or artist names. Also, no useful Weather Apps
seem to be available through the Car Play interface, Weatherology is primitive.
Amazing the info available on these forums. I know I've had my car almost two years now and I'm still learning from these posts. Thanks to all my forum friends...

Mine shows the name of the artist and the song title to the left of the speedometer, but they're truncated. I'm using Amazon Music, but on this display it shows as iPhone.

That applies only to the 12.3 inch Navigation equipped 2019 through 2022 model year ESs. On those ESs, there is a vertical row of icons on the right side of the 12.3 inch screen. When one of those icons is selected with the remote touch, the 12.3 inch display will split and display a side panel on the right side of the screen displaying information specific to the topic associated with the icon selected.
From the 2019 Lexus ES 350 Navigation and Multimedia System Owner's Manual , here's what the split screen looks like: Lexus ES 12.3 inch split screen display
That's an example of a split screen with the radio control displayed on the "main" screen panel and the navigation map displayed on the side panel.
The music note you're asking about is the second from the top icon in the vertical row of icons on the right side of the screen image. If for example you had the navigation map diplayed full screen and you selected the music note side icon, the screen display would split showing the map on a horizontally smaller map "main" screen display on the left side and a side panel would appear on the right side of the screen displaying audio audio related specific information and controls.
2023 and later model years' 12.3 inch have a "new" Lexus Interface display which does not have the split screen functionality like the previous 2019 through 2022 model year ESs have.
