Subwoofer install with ML- no hum
Hi everyone, new to the 7th Gen ES forum. I just traded in my 4th Gen GS350 AWD for a 2020 ES350 F Sport. I love it so far! Wish I could have waited for the '21 AWD, but the FWD will be fine.
I took my car to the local shop for a subwoofer amp install and window tint. I have the Mark Levinson system without Navigation. I have a Rockford Fosgate Class D Mono Subwoofer Amp pushing two 12" MTX in a sealed box. Standard Line output converter tapped into my front right speaker off of the amplifier with RCA's going to the amp. They had not worked on a 7th Gen ES350 yet, so were unsure if the mics would need to be disconnected. They told me they didn't have to disconnect the mics after the install. I got in the car and there was a hum from the subwoofer, whether i turned the stereo on or off while the car was parked. When I opened the door, the hum turned off. So the shop said to make another appointment for them to find the mics and disconnect them. They said during testing, they never had a hum.
So I disconnect the RCA's and drive home, i had to make a business phone call so didn't want the hum. I reconnect them at home and retune my amp, bass boost all the way down and gain to like 20%. Then all of the hum disappeared. I drove, got on the highway, parked, turned off the car, did everything again.
It's strange that the hum is gone considering the mics weren't removed, and i made sure all windows were closed. Anyone else have this same experience?

I never did anything to permanently disable ANC, every time the cabin is fully closed I can hear the subs hum. I tuned my Rockford amp using the supplied CD and with ANC off, since then I haven't made any adjustments.
I think your amp gain might be too low which is why you can't hear the hum while ANC is active. Also, ANC can be deactivated if the sunroof is open not just the windows and doors.
