Default Window Tint on Side Windows Only

Hello,
I just purchased a 2020 ES 350 in white with chateau interior. I am interested in getting the windows tinted, but don't really want to tint the rear. Has anyone had just the 4 windows tinted? If so, has does it look? I'm afraid it might look funny, but am basically just wanting to cut down on the uv rays and provide a small amount of privacy.

Thanks in advance!

I have never seen that on any vehicle, out of curiosity why don't you want to tint the rear window? Might be a better idea to just buy some of those stick-on sun shades.

I just bought mine too in july. I tinted both rear windows and back glass. I leave the front windows as it.

Thanks for the reply. I was told that because the back windows have the auto defrost lines that it might damage them and would void the warranty. Also, I've been in cars where the back window was tinted, and it was difficult to see out the back. That's why I wanted to see about just doing the side windows.

Tint on the defrost wires won't damage them. Many glass suppliers to the automobile market are taking shortcuts and producing inferior products. Specifically, the glassmakers are not getting the defrost wires applied to the glass in a way that makes them permanent. In turn, they're falling off while merely cleaning the glass in preparation for a window tint install. Also, removing tint can sometimes take the defrost lines with the film, especially film that has been on the vehicle a long time

Never had a problem with that. I really wouldn't worry about that. Tint the back window. You wont regret it.

If your concerned about being too dark at night - go 35% or 50%. They are not so dark.

Agreed with Conan. Go with 50% which is almost like no tint. Otherwise go 35% you won't regret it.

I put tint on my 4 side windows: a very light tint on the front windows, and a darker tint on the rear door windows, much like the way many SUVs are done at the factory.
I think I did not do anything on the rear window, and I would never add anything to the windshield that would decrease visibility even a teensy little bit.

The dark factory tint on the RX350h is just one of the reasons I did not trade for one. At dusk backing out of driveway was very little visibility. Of course it had rear view camera and digital mirror if can get adjusted to but I like to see where I am going. Think this is the way all suvs are if I ever want to get one.

I have chateau interior as well. Just keep in mind that tints will appear lighter than due to the light interior compared to dark interior. I put on 50% and it looks like I don't have any tint on. zzzzz
