Default Remote Start Annoyance

I love my new ES but not thrilled with the way they implemented the remote start. I hate that it turns off as soon as I open the door and have to restart it again. I know it’s for safety from being stollen or kids accidentally shifting into gear.
my previous car have a much smarter method.

After I started my previous car, the only things operating beside the motor was the climate control and heated steering. When I enter the car (must have key on me) I would have to step on the brake and press start then drive away. The car would not need to be restarted. It prevented theft or accidental shifting because as soon as you pressed the shift lever button it would turn off.

just annoys me to have to restart the car.

And most everyone agrees with you... Real PITA but isn't going to change anytime soon... I just don't understand why other manufacturers get it right and Lexus can't...

I don't get the big deal with restarting it but that's just me. Step on the brake, push button. Take off.

I think as a luxury car it should be more intuitive. Turning off the engine on a cold crisp day invites cold air into the nicely prewarmed car. Unnecessary wear and tear on the starter, wasted gas restarting, oil not fully circulated when restarting causing unnecessary wear on pistons and rings. All petty minute each time, but with luxury comes being pampered

you just said that in your previous car, "When I enter the car (must have key on me) I would have to step on the brake and press start then drive away" , what difference does it make in your Lexus now?

The engine remained running when I unlocked and entered the car. A/C remained blasting in the summer and heat blowing in the winter. If the family gets in the car, all 4 doors open and all is lost until the car is restarted.

I'm no mechanic but i have to believe oil is fully coated everywhere when you restart right after the shutdown. Unnecessary wear and tear on the starter - tell that to all the mfrs that are now using stop start technology.
