Turn off display screen
In my case I would like to simply achieve what you wrote in your subject title.
Just quickly turn off the screen (not the NAV screen).
Lexus brags that you can turn on the screen simply by touching it.
That is SUPER!
Now how to do you turn it off, just as quickly?
So far I haven't found the secret. I'm staring at the screen(s) and none of them say "touch me to turn off screen".

I love creative answers like this when Lexus doesn't provide a basic feature.
So far the only thing I've found is Settings/Scroll down/Display/Turn Off
Now we all know Lexus and governments recommend always looking out the windshield at the traffic ahead of you.
Why would Lexus make you play with the screen four times just to turn it off?
How about providing a button on the outer edge of the screen?
Or tap the screen once to turn ON and twice to turn OFF?

● For safety, the driver should operate the display as little as possible while driving and should stop the vehicle to operate the display. Operating the display while driving is dangerous such as mistakenly turning the steering wheel or other unforeseen accidents. Additionally, look at the display only as necessary and as briefly as possible when driving the vehicle.

While I don't claim to follow that particular Lexus safety guidance 100% of the time, there's been plenty of times I've pulled over and stopped to make settings changes requiring more than the briefest span of divided attention to make the change.
Surely you're one of those drivers who's read the Lexus provided manuals and are following the provided guidance on the safe operation of the vehicle especially warnings such as:
So, Lexus explicitly warns of the dangers of operating the display while driving and strongly advises against doing that. Just because some drivers choose to ignore Lexus's safe driving guidance and continue working feverishly toward winning their Darwin Award, you can't blame Lexus for drivers engaging in this particular unsafe driving practice.

I agree with you 100%. We should not be staring at/playing with our display screens while driving!
My questions were asked to MINIMIZE staring at/playing with my screen.
So today I was all excited. I thought I was going to be able to give members a tip/advice for a change, instead of asking for help as I usually do.
But it was not meant to be.
When I was speaking with my Lexus service advisor yesterday one of the questions I asked him was how to quickly turn off the display screen (one touch etc.).
He told me to hold down the Power button for the radio for a few seconds!
Well today I got a chance to test out his tip. It didn't work.

The screen started to go through its 'power down' process, but ended by turning on again!
Maybe you folks can try it and see if it works for you?
On the same theme...
Is there some kind of industry legal obligation to display a warning message on the display screen EACH time the display is about to turn off?
A warning to drive safely.
This seems really weird to me.
So here's what happens. If I have turned off my display screen (it happens with no warning message) then the next time I start my car
the screen turns on long enough for a warning message to come on advising me to drive safely, and then the screen finally turns off again.
How could I have possibly driven my previous 2007 Lexus ES-350 for 17 years with no display screen and no warning messages to drive safely?
I think the reality is they (and probably other makers) don’t worry too much about turning off the screen with a button or something immediately accessible because it’s likely that in today’s world, probably 95+% of drivers would never use it or want it. If polled, I’m sure a lot of us would like like certain features that don’t rise enough in popularity for them to spend the time/money on to accommodate us. I will say, having come back to Lexus from a Mercedes in ’22, Lexus does give us a lot more control of features and vehicle system settings than MB.
I am all for technology, but I think I still like to have real buttons for real tasks. As I mentioned in another thread, I wish there was a dedicated AC on/off button instead of going through all the menus. Same for the display, I like to turn the display off once in a while. It makes for a more serene drive when there isn't 12" of billboard info blasting at you. I used to boast back in the day when I had my 1992 Cressida, how it had close to 50 different control buttons. At the time I thought it was cool (truth be told I think I still do). Once you got familiar with all the buttons you could instantly get the setup you want. Interestingly enough, as much as modern cars like to have access control through a myriad of screen menus, these same modern cars now have incredibly busy steering wheels. Seems cars went from fully loaded dash buttons to fully loaded steering wheels....
