Default Still like it!

I was just laughing at myself for noticing the "Ambient Lighting" for the first time last week, after 7 1/2 months, 5000 miles, and 2 short ish road trips! I like that the lighting is subtle. Maybe just a touch TOO subtle, huh?

It started me thinking, though. I still really like this car! The worst thing I can say about it is that it handles like a FWD car, and not a fun/racy car., but I knew that going in. It's really comfortable, has all the do-dads I like, a great sound system, and I think it's REALLY pretty. I LOVE the paint! I have yet to have anyone ride with me that didn't comment on the ride and quietness. I love showing it to people!

Sometimes I get caught up in the little things that can be annoying, and I forget to appreciate all of the things I like. There are a LOT more of the good things!

I'm getting more & more used to the new ES350 Sport. The infotainment system is still fussy but I like the power, quietness and safety features. The ES350 seems more skittish in driving around town with the hard downshifts.

I still love the 2006 IS250 because it has none of the fussy infotainment bells & whistles. And I just love the real speedometer & tachometer gauges on the IS250. Also, the IS250 has, compared to the ES350, a much more smooth & buttery transmission than the ES350.

The more gears they keep adding, the less smooth any trans will be. My Hyundai six speed was the smoothest I ever drove - barely noticed a single shift.

I see you have atomic silver.

I really like that color. I am also considering caviar and obsidian

Enjoyed the paint comment.

What is the rationale for more gears, less smooth?
