Default 6 month service check

My 2019 Lexus ES FSport is due for its 6 month check up. I took possession of it January 2 and only have 2500 miles on it. My question is is this check up going to be free of charge?

It's the mileage that's most important. Not really needed at only 2,500 miles.

And unless you bought the prepaid maintenance then it's not free. I would suggest taking it to a Toyota dealership. The ES is very similar to the Toyota Avalon so the regular maintenance is basically the same on both cars.

Also, you really only have 2,500 miles on your car after 6 months? I've had mine 3 months exactly and I'm at 4785. Do you ever drive it?

First service for me included a synthetic oil change and a tire rotation. No charge. They did their multi-point inspection, and offered to wash the car, which I declined.

I hadn't prepaid for service, but was told first two are free.

I did ask for the lane change directional flash to be increased from 3 blinks to five.

I just took mine in that I bought on December 5th. for the 6 month checkup. My car has 1509 miles on it. Lexus checked everything due for the 5k interval and there was NO CHARGE.
Next FREE service is due at the one year mark regardless of mileage... I expect that I will have less than 5k in one year...

First two services are in fact FREE. 5,000/10,000 miles or 6/12 months. First service is basically a tire rotation and inspection. Second service is oil change etc.

The first check (6 months or 5000 miles) is free. It is basically an inspection and a chance to have the preference settings set for you at no cost. The second visit (1 year or 10,000 miles) is also free and includes an oil and filter change. After these two, all scheduled maintenance costs you money.

That is not correct.

The 6 month or 5000 mile service and the 1 year or 10,000 mile service are free.

However, the 6 month or 5000 mile service is basically just a tire rotation and a number of inspections. Many don't bother with the 6 month/5000 mile check, and, if you only have 2500 miles on the car there should not be any need to do a tire rotation. But you are allowed to have "dealer only" personalized settings changed with no charge one time. So, if there are any of those settings that you would like to have changed, you can have them done at the 6 month/5000 mile service. Otherwise, with only 2500 miles on the car, there is likely no real reason to even take the car in for that first service interval.

I was surprised they changed out the oil at 6 months, 4000 miles. They said they'd do a new filter at twelve months.

You only get 1 free oil change from Lexus. Your dealer may have thrown one in for you. The local dealer offered a change at 5000 miles, but would then charge for the 10,000 mile one.

But how absurd to change the oil and not the filter.

I took mine in for the 5,000 mile/5 month service. I forgot all about the preference changes. They didn't even mention it. I don't know what they did because I wasn't told. The advisor I made the appointment with told me to ask for him when I showed up at the service department. He wasn't there when I arrived. Crappy dealership!

I called the service mgr, and I was incorrectly told they did an oil only change. Code 00105L is filter change and new synthetic oil.

.... and the second, at 10K is also complimentary.

Nice they gave you the oil change at 5k as the standard is every 10k. I paid them to change the oil at my 5k service as I dont feel comfortable waiting until 10k. They gave me 50% off the regular price in that case.

Default What settings CAN be changed at the 6 month service?

I've read with interest folks that have had their lane change blinks changed, as well as some saying that you can have the key fob lower the windows. I'm interested in knowing what settings that can be adjusted and what have others asked for.

Thanks
Rick
