Anyone find this is overly sensitive? A few times, ive had the system slam on the brakes when I was backing up with no apparent imminent threat.

This happened to me today! A lady had walked behind the car, and continued along the side. The car stooped itself. It was close enough that I’m ok with it, even though I did see her and she was out of the way. Sure did surprise me!

My goodness,
It is incredible that you mention this.
Yesterday, I had this happen.
I was attempting to get into a parking space between two cars and I had to wait for traffic behind me to clear before I could attempt to back into a space, when I started backing up, the car slammed on the brake because on-coming traffic started moving and a vehicle was coming around the corner, I swear I thought I hit something the way the car slammed and ground into the brakes, My Freaking Heart Pounded as I looked around everywhere and I knew I was clear of all surfaces. That was tough, I'm still a little shaken by that, I said to myself Damn!! what did I just hit.

I does in fact feel as though you hit something. My wife said the same exact thing as we experienced it yesterday.

If I pull into the garage just a bit faster than usual, it slams on the brakes at about a foot before the wall. If I come in a little slower, I'm able to nudge it to the six or eight inches without issue.

...and yes, it's quite abrupt.

You learn to baby the car when you're in tight spots, backing up etc.

I haven't tried it, but as a former NYC parallel-parker, I get the impression you wouldn't be able to "kiss" the bumper of a car in front of, or behind you with this feature active.

You could but no french kiss - go VERY SLOWLY and it will likely behave.

It worked Correctly the other day. Having the brake leave my foot abruptly and fast, was really strange. And I agree, in one instance, no one was around and it did it repeatedly.

I love this feature! In my area people drive like maniacs in parking lots. Also people walk right up to and behind a car that is obviously moving in reverse. Rear visibility is poor in most all modern cars and people just dart behind your car. Great feature!
