Default Odd Nav Behavior

Ive noticed this with our RX and now for the first time with the ES. I set a destination that was essentially a straight highway run of 75 miles. The guidance returned routing that was completely illogical - added miles and minutes that made no sense whatsoever. What gives? Everything else perfect and the computer said i got roughly 33mpg although I didnt test that calc with an actual refill and manual calc. Prob directionally correct.

I have noticed with my hybrid, the cpu calculates 56mpg however doing the physical calculation (miles/gallons) I get 43. I reset the cpu mpg at the same time as mileage. I have never seen so much of a drastic difference with any of my cars.

Its darn close to 31/32. Just refilled. As far as the Nav goes, I just found a setting that was avoiding toll roads. Voila.

You might have the preference enabled to avoid highways. I remember having to change that when I first bought my GS a long time ago, it always had terrible directions until I selected for it to prefer highways.
