Default Rear side window sunshade

The other day - about 30;days past the warranty expiring, mind you - I was trying to move the right rear door rear quarter window sunshade when the small black plastic tab just snapped off in my hand (Lexus part (65960-33020)). Online the assembly is around $130, though I’m sure my dealer would charge me at least double that.

Has anyone had any similar experience or know how hard the replacement is? Unlike the main door sunshade, which would likely need to remove the door card, it seems that the small quarter window assembly is integrated in the divider pillar … so perhaps it doesn’t require taking the door interior apart? FWIW the shade is in the open, fastened position - the tab piece broke off as I was trying to release the little shade from the retention hook.

Any info, experience or suggestions would be appreciated. My car is a ‘22 ES350 UL. I do use these side shades occasionally and find them very helpful in certain conditions. That, plus being very fussy about my car, means I cannot let it just sit,

I replaced that exact part myself at one point. The bottom part of that piece is actually underneath, and held in place, by the interior door panel. So you have to remove that first, and then that piece. The door panel isn't overly difficult to remove, as it's mostly three screws plus popping out a bunch of clips. That piece you have just snaps right off and then back on. The hardest part is making sure you don't lose any door panel clips as those fall off/out easily.

The rear side curtain assembly should be fairly easy (aside from the price of the part).

From my Rear Trim Loose post #2:

According to lexusguide.net Lexus ES (XZ10) Service Manual's Rear Door - Disassembly's procedure 16. REMOVE REAR SIDE CURTAIN ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Door Sunshade) (scroll down the page about half way) associated illustration shows that assembly is attached with two clips with slide down and pull out direction arrows for removing it. However, the Rear Door - Reassembly's procedure 34. INSTALL REAR SIDE CURTAIN ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear Door Sunshade) (scroll down the page about three fourths of the way) associated illustration shows only a push in arrow to set the clips for reattaching the assembly to the door.
