Default Whatsit?

I found this on the floor under my feet on the steering wheel side, but I can't figure out where it came from.
I recognize it as a 'pin' probably used to secure soft pieces of trim in the interior but I can't seem to locate an empty hole on the door, dash or seat..

I also notice that it appears to be worn for some reason.

Does anyone have an idea where to look for the 'missing hole"?

Thanks

Thanks!! I'll take a look. But I clearly need to buy a new one based on how worn the current one is.

I looked above the throttle pedal but there was one already there. So I looked back and saw two holding the carpet to the floor under the leading edge of the seat, only one hole was empty ...

Thanks again

BTW, you can purchase bags of different types of plastic clips/plugs off Fleabay. Take a look around the car, maybe make a list, and just buy a pack. Be a lot cheaper in the long run than running to the dealer for a custom, one-of-a-kind, complete with concierge served latte. "while-you-wait".
