I bought it for $119 a few months ago, looks to be $10 more now. The one you linked is landscape and even more $$, I don’t think much different. I bought that one last Sept. (2024) and while it did what I bought it for, I did not like using it at all: 1) it was slow, 2) full scan required to even access features; very awkward 3) no manual and screen logic not always intuitively decipherable. Also the portrait mode was awkward to use. I returned it.
A few months ago I had a need again (key programming), bought the model linked above. It was faster, more logical, also handier. I definitely like it and kept it. I have programmed keys with it, TPMS, set customizations, etc. Beyond Toyota custom features, I’ve used it in OBDII mode to track and record live data for diagnostics, and it’s quick and easy to do that, including graphing. I also have two other tools, both iCarsoft units for Volvo and Jag/Land Rover. Both are larger “landscape” units like the unit you linked and definitely harder to use vs. the “portrait” mode of the Creader I linked.
Security risk? Warranty danger? well, I imagine if you have hacking skills and want to go in and cause damage, it could help w/that. But without intent and software skills, no, it can’t natively do that.
Thanks for the detailed reply. I've seen some videos wherein there is a "Mall" section of the device and it requires you to purchase different car models in order to read codes or change settings. Has that been your experience?
Techstream is the way to go.
I went to MHH auto forums and downloaded Techstream V15 (it has the most functions). I then paid $30 to be a member of the forum and I have unlimited downloads and activations.
After I paid, one of the moderators sent me al the keys for 4 version of Techstream (NA, JP, EU, General). The activation is good for 5000 days.
Also, I purchased Mongoose clone and it works like a charm.

Hi hotwings, seems like the listing is geolocked and does not work in the US.
It works for Japan, United Kingdom, and Canada.
You can change your shipping address in the header bar and you'll be able to see it.

Any idea what sets V15 apart from V18? Just wondering if the older one is better for a ’23 300h?
I'm ready to make the jump from Carista/ODBLink LX. Thanks!
