Default Lexus Advisory Board

Hello all,

I just received an email inviting me to join the Lexus Advisory Board. It seems legitimate, although it didn’t come from Lexus, but rather from noreply@qemailserver.com. They’re offering a chance to win an Amazon gift card if I complete a survey. Has anyone had experience with this? Is it worth doing, or joining? Are they going to ask me all sorts of invasive personal and financial questions? Note that I purchased a new 2025 ES350 in January, maybe why I got this email? Thank you.

I have been on this board before - it lasted for a few years and then just ended. My vehicle that triggered the invite probably aged out of their study. Anyway, they don't ask invasive personal or financial questions, but they are trying to understand buying habits and opinions on potential features. It is all confidential and you have to agree to that in order to join the board. I found it interesting and you will see a survey about every three or four weeks. Usually the survey takes about 5 minutes, but sometimes it can be longer. I had no regrets and it was kind of fun to see their thinking, but you can't share any of it on this forum.

Advisory board seems a fancy name for market research. But @TechNut shows there's nothing wrong with that, certainly nothing nefarious or illegitimate. Just a corporation tapping into the brains of their customer base to maybe help shape future decision making.

I agree - I’ve been responding to their surveys since I bought my ’22. I figure it will end soon but they do ask some interesting questions and thoughts on likes/dislikes, future designs, etc.

It's perfectly legit, and I have been "On the Board" (in the focus group) for a few years. It's a focus group type of survey limited to current owners, which is a common marketing practice and I enjoy answering the questions. Each survey, every month or so, takes about 5 minutes at the most. I'm still waiting for my first gift card prize. Calling it the "Lexus Advisory Board" is a nice marketing move on their part.
ALSO: in response to the question: "Are they going to ask me all sorts of invasive personal and financial questions?" the answer is no (meaning I have not felt invaded yet), but there is no penalty or punishment for not answering a question, nor do you have to agree to give a response to every inquiry. If you don't like the questions, close that tab on your browser and move on.

You can add me to the list of people to blame......and we both live in ATL! I participate. They do ask some interesting questions.

The areas of inquiry are often not about your experiences with your Lexus (that's what JD Powers does), but often are soliciting your reaction to a new feature or new design or new technology that Lexus is thinking about incorporating into future vehicles. This insight into things under consideration is what I like most about the surveys.
When I win one of those swell gift cards, that will be my most favorite thing.

I have been in the Toyota board and agree that the questions are interesting. My latest Toyota survey answers let them know I no longer have the 2021 Avalon and now have a 2024 ES350. Maybe they will invite me to the Lexus version.

Thanks to all who replied. I started the survey but stopped when they asked for my household income.
