One more thing, cover the rear speaker mesh with ducktape or something like that and then listen if the frequency of the sound is changed.
Thanks ESh.
I tried covering the rear speaker mesh with carpet, but the Geiger sound went right through it (if it is coming from the speaker).
My next step will be to remove the wires from the amp if I can release the metal tab that is holding down the plastic amp cover.
Any tips for doing that?

Something very concerning happened yesterday. It was another noise.
This noise was much louder than the Geiger sound. It was a buzzing/grating type of sound.
At first I didn't know where it was coming from. I had opened the door to get to my car/garage and
right away I could hear the noise.
At first I thought maybe it was the garage door opener above my car. Then I even went to my basement thinking
some kind of water alarm might be sounding there.
Nothing in the basement. I checked outside, nothing there.
I went back to my car. It was coming from the rear. I went inside the car but couldn't hear it there.
I opened the trunk and it was the loudest when I put my head in the trunk.

I went for a drive and came back home. I decided to turn off the seat warmer thinking maybe it was related
to that.
Anybody have any ideas what it could be/have been?
I had never heard it before yesterday. It was kind of nasty sounding.

My main concern was that it was sounding with the car engine being turned off, so it was draining
my battery.

I'll bet it's the Evap emission test running ! I heard it too I'll try to find the pertinent links on it where others have described it perfectly.

Thanks hotwings for the heads up.
I'm glad to learn quite a few others have experienced it as well.
You know it could have happened several times since I bought my car last year,
but if I wasn't in the garage when it sounded how would I know about it.

EVAP most likely. It conducts the leak tests 5h after your park the car.

It sounds almost like a mis-alligned fan. Totally spitballing, have you looked at the seat circulation fan/blower?

Thanks for helping out.
If you could tell me how to get at the seat circulation fan/blower I would look at it.
I don't think it's it. The sound is coming from behind me to my left.

The easiest means of checking whether or not it is a fan related noise is to just turn the fans off.

For the driver's and passenger's seat ventilator fans, you can turn each fan off just by repeatedly pressing the hard seat ventilator switch until you reach the OFF setting. (See the "Seat ventilators" section on page 262 of the 2024 LEXUS ES250, ES350 OWNER'S MANUAL USA AND CANADA ONLY if needed for details.) For the air conditioning system fan just shut the fan off by pressing the (fan icon) OFF button of the air conditioning controls. (See the "Setting the fan speed" on pages 255 and 256 of the 2024 LEXUS ES250, ES350 OWNER'S MANUAL USA AND CANADA ONLY if needed for details.)

If the sound still persists after turning off the fans then I suggest you try using a poor man's stethoscope to try to better localize where the sound is coming from.

A poor man's stethoscope is something like a a short length of metal or plastic tube (a paper towel's or toilet paper's inner paper tube will due in a pinch) that will directional channel sound from a localized area/surface to one of your ears. Place one end of the tube on one of your ears (and block your other ear) and place the other tube end on various surface locations attempting to isolate exactly where the sound is coming from. While there's no guarantees you'll be able to find the exact source of the sound with that method, it can give you a better idea of where the sound isn't coming from and a narrowing down of area(s) where the sound might be coming from. (It'd be best to have someone assist you by setting in the driver's seat with seat belt latched to suppress any "driver missing" chimes and buzzers while you're in the backseat area trying to localize where the sound is coming from.)

We can rule out the fan/blower. All of them were turned off and the Geiger sound was still there.

Well I succeeded in removing the pin that was holding down the amp cover, by breaking it.
The tool I used couldn't lift the pin up but it did break it.
So now I can access the amp wires.

The first two connectors were relatively easy to disconnect.
The third long one involved recognizing there was a lever clip that needed
to be lifted. I finally got it disconnected too.

Too late to test drive. I'll do that tomorrow.
This will be an interesting test!

Well I just did the test drive.
It did NOT stop the Geiger sound.

So back to square one...
Next steps?

Remove the rear door trim and drive it without it and check if the noise is there.

Well hold on. I think logically and this doesn't seem to be logical.
As I mentioned a few times above the sound is NOT mechanical.
The change you are now suggesting is mechanical is it not?

For anyone who might know, is there a sensor or speaker located behind the driver's seat
to the left, apart from the radio speaker in the door?
