I test drove a 2023 es300h. The reverse camera is a lot better then mine. Dealer said the 2023 camera wont be compatible with mine?

I have 2020 lexus es300h sports luxury

I really wanna change my reverse camera to one of the best cameras .a so it's a lot.more clearer w keeping factory reverse lines and functionality etc.
does anyone have any suggestions?

Is there really much difference? Our 24 RX camera doesn't seem any better than the 19 ES.

 

hello there really is good difference. The 2023 Australian model looks like hd quality
while the 2019 model with the non touch screen looks ok but quite grainy. Even friend said 2023 was a lot better. Only the rear csmera

This difference could be because the loaner had the "12 screen and the OP car has the "8 screen.
The resolution is better in the bigger screen.

 

I have the 12inch screen. Even a review said for 2019 that the reverse rear camera is like a super Nintendo quality.

The dealer told.me 2023 camera to the new touch screen. Isn't compatible to work with 2019 screen

 

FWIW, here's what happened to me.

When I got my 2019 ES five and a half years ago, the rear view camera was very blurry. I cleaned the lens with a wet rag, but no change. When I went for service, I noticed the 2020 ES loaner camera was much clearer. I figured that Lexus fixed the problem with the 2020 model year. I mentioned it to the service rep and he said he would clean the lens. I didn't expect any improvement because I'd already tried that. When I picked up the car from service, the rear view camera was much clearer. Perhaps they used some sort of cleaning solution that worked better than my effort.

 

Oh. I briefly owned a used 21 ES and the cams were horrible. My 20 ES, CPO, seem to be better than the 21 I had. I did get a loaner 24 ES and I didn't see a significant upgrade over my 20 in terms of reverse cam. So I think what you said makes a lot of sense.
