Default Assistance with text messaging

I just can't figure this out. I just bought a 2025 Lexus es350 UL and want the infotainment system to read any messages that come in while driving.
I get the pop up window, but it just shows who's sending the message. There is a little arrow on right I can hit to hear immediately, but I have to take my eyes off the road (not very safe)

My phone and messages are connected through bluetooth.

Is there a quick way to hear the message immediately without saying HEY LEXUS read the last incoming message after the message has been left on the phone.

Any help would be appreciated.

BJ

This is not much help, but my 2024 ES 350 UL has always read the messages to me while I'm driving. I don't know where that setting is, but it should be in there somewhere. My impression at the time of purchase was that this was the default setting. If you can't find a setting, check with the tech guy at the dealership, who is supposedly knowledgeable and skilled at solving this kind of issue.

I would assume this must be a setting. I am sure lexus can help.Mine shows the message and I do have to touch the screen to hear. Now for me, I get a lot of texts while driving so honestly, I would rather have the control if I want to hear it or not. It would be annoying for them to just automaticlly be read to me. So many are junk. I like that control.

There's a Bluetooth setting that controls reading text messages aloud.

From the 2025 LEXUS ES250, ES350, ES300H MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL USA AND CANADA ONLY, on page 179:
● If [Auto read messages] is on, messages are read aloud. (→P.76)
and on page 77 in the "Setting Bluetooth® devices" section's "● General" settings table entry "[Auto read messages]":
Enables or disables the automated message read out function.
If you don't already know how to access the settings for a Bluetooth device they're found on page 76 - Settings (the gear icon on the left/primary menu list) -> [Bluetooth & Devices] (on the next menu list) -> your registered Bluetooth device/phone. You'll have to scroll down a tad on the settings listing on the right side of the screen to find the "Auto read messages" toggle control.

RobertJay, the poster asking for help, is connecting his phone using Bluetooth so any and all CarPlay setting are not applicable to addressing his issue.

My point was because he’s connected via Bluetooth that setting isn’t available.
