Bluetooth Question
I already have a Sony/Ericson T616 phone that is mated to the car. I was able to transfer the phonebook all at once and the one touch buttons and phonebook have both names and numbers.
I currently have Cingular and will be switching to Verizon and was thinking about getting the Motorola V710. I know it has funcionality problems with the Lexus Bluetooth system, particularly transferring numbers.
My question is: if the numbers and names are already in the Lexus system from the T616, can I link the V710 to the car and use that phone with the numbers in the Lexus memory to make calls through the cars Bluetooth system?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Stan - I had the Sony T637 and had it working great with the car. Switched to a company issued Blackberry 7100T and T-Mobile. Got it to pair with the car but couldn't upload the contacts list out of the Blackberry. It seems it does not matter - I was able to retain all the one-touch and regular phone entries that had been left from the Sony. I can call them up and dial them via the 7100T. Best of both worlds, I guess!
Lately I've been using a BlueTooth headset and prefer that to the Lexus Bluetooth. My commute is mostly at highway speeds and people complain about the extra noise in the background when using the hands-free. Headset has eliminated that issue - I just look like a friggin' robot with that thing on my ear!

Thanks for the response. I guess that once the numers are transferred to the cars bluetooth system, they stay there and can be used with any compatible telephone. It looks like I will be going with either the V710 or the Treo 650 through Verizon.

Yes, once your phonebook is loaded into the nav system, they will work with any phone you pair with the car. I changed from a Nokia to a Moto Razr with no problems. I have heard of Cingular stores that would load your phonebook into a sony phone, download the entire phonebook to your car, then sell you the phone of your choice to use with the car.
