The same system provides the Traffic conditions shown as the Green/Yellow/Red corridors on the Navigation map.
Even the non-navigation equipped cars have the weather forecast information but not the map. Those cars actually
have a Traffic Condition Map as well. Static with an icon at your present location. I present it with a bit of humor...
"For a $1000 more you can have a map to tell you How to get to your destination, this map shows you what to avoid."

 

I have found the traffic feature is highly inaccurate and not up to date.

 

On a clear day this is the effect in the vehicle.

 

 

MyRadar on the iPhone is an awesome app. It has a high enough resolution to tell me if it is even sprinkling rain over my location. Give this a try. Works on Car Play.
