Service Start Date
The sales manager answered my email about the Lexus app on my phone showing a date of first use two months before they sold me the car. All he had to offer was that they sent the correct date of sale to Lexus. I could not find the date of first use in the My Lexus app on my desktop computer. When I go to the local Lexus dealer in January for the first six months service, I will see what their system says for date of first use.
On your computer if you go to https://www.lexus.com/My-Lexus and sign in and add vehicle with vin you should be able to view specs which shows first use. I get the feeling here your dealer is not telling you whole story with the car. A car can be sold as new so long as it has not been titled. Speculation but this could have been loaned out and services activated which would trigger first use date. In my opinion that makes it a used car and should be priced accordingly but just like dealer demos dealers don't see it that way. If I were you I would contact Lexus customer service and let them investigate this for you. Just remember everything starts from that date including warranty. The 170 mile on vehicle at purchase is a clue.

All warranty and service intervals are from the vehicle's in service date, aka when the vehicle was first purchased new. It doesn't matter if it was on the dealer lot for a month or a year, both are from the date the vehicle was fist purchased new, and "put into service". You should go by whichever you are hitting however, there is a reason it is in both time and miles, if you're at the 1 year, but haven't done the mileage, you'd be due based off the time interval.

You might check the maintenance agreement. My wife likes the prepaid maintenance, which was fine with me since the negotiated cost was rolled in to the financing. We purchased the 5 yr/50k plan with her 19 ES300h in April 2019. Section 3d of the agreement states that services must be used within one year of the Agreement Expiration Date. She has yet to reach 50k miles, but her car is still being serviced at the mileage intervals, until April of next year.
