If I open the door before the movement is finished it stops immediately and moves me forward into a position that neither my wife or I have programmed into the car.

Keep only one fob in the car with you and when the car is running set up your seat and steering wheel like you want it to drive the car, hit the set button by the seat settings control, and push the number for your fob until you hear a beep. It’s then programmed to that fob.
Ok what does that get me? Does the seat adjust when i walk up to the drivers side door?

On my 2024 the seat doesn’t adjust from the exit position to my preset driving position until my foot is on the brake and I start the car.

My ‘21 ES doesn’t do anything. When I open the door the seat stays put until I start the car or fasten the seat belt.

Is this right for my car? When I try to bind the fob it never seems to work.

I’d love to be able to help you but that may be a dealer question. Can you check your owner’s manual to see if a 2021 has that feature? I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
