Default OTD Prices

Hi. New here and looking at the ES350 Premium Pkg. Ive searched and I dont see any consistent discussions around prices paid.
What did you pay OTD for your ES and what state?

See Lexus of North Miami. Nice selection. Over 10% off MSRP.

I tried buying a car in MA for a someone in NC since the deals are better. I was told by three MA dealers that they are the only ones who can register the car and they will not go farther than about 3 states. The only way to do it was for them to register it in MA (ie me pay all the RMV fees, sales tax, huge excise tax) and then I do it all over again in NC. I might be able to reclaim some of it back but what a hastle.

They would not give me the title so I could register it directly in NC.

We live in PA and have PA plates and registration. Bought my Lexus in Miami dealership while visiting for the winter. They registered it for me in PA. Not a hitch. They do it all the time for customers visiting from all over the country. Also, much higher volume and way more competitive pricing than in PA.

I just don't get it. What you say makes sense but the 3 dealers I spoke with said they have to be physically present at the RMV to register the car and they were only willing to travel a limited distance. They were not willing to travel to NC from MA.

So you are saying they registered the vehicle "remotely" from Miami and then you flew to Miami to pickup the car which had PA plates already on it?

Dealerships simply mailed my title to Harrisburg. No muss no fuss. Also did it on two other car purchases from DarsCars in Maryland for registration of my title in PA.
Does it make any difference that mine were all cash purchases with no lien or encumbrance on the title? I dunno’ but I’d take their explanation with a grain of salt, so to speak.

In the Miami purchase, I think we bought a new plate for $100 as I recall because there was no trade.
We were wintering here (Fl) at time of purchase. Drove the car here all winter and then home a few months later when we left for home (PA).

Earlier you said the dealer registered your car in PA. Did they mail the title to RMV in Harrisburg along with a registration application? I would think that process would take forever.

Yes, they did.
I legally drive my car with Fl temp plates for a couple of months. But no harm done.

Most of the titling on the East coast is being done electronically now. I have bought cars recently in MD and NC and had both registered and titled in SC. The old days of the dealers DMV clerk having to run all over is a thing of the past.

Could be my Dealership in Miami did it electronically. I dunno’. But it all went smoothly. To be more precise, I should’ve said they SENT it into Harrisburg for processing.

Evidently one subaru and two toyota dealers near me are stilll in the stone age because they said they could not (maybe WOULD NOT) register a car from their MA location to NC..
They told me they physically still go to the RMV.

Wow Now I wish I waited, that's fantastic.
Was that an easy internet special deal or did you have to do long battle with a salesman until you were the last man standing?
