Default Rear Camera Display unavailable

After I changed the battery in my 2019 ES350 I get the message Rear Camera Display unavailable and a flashing message RCD off. Looking for a solution to resolve the issue. Thanks!

Found this procedure to reset in a Camry. Maybe this would also work in a Lexus. Give it a try and let us know...

same process for the ES.

when you remove the car battery you need to reinitialize some of the features of the car. it’s simple and easy to do.

When you put your ES in reverse does the backup camera display have an exclamation point in a diamond symbol displayed in the upper left corner area of the screen?

If so, resetting/recalibrating the steering position sensor will usually resolve the issue. (That's what the Camry video included in bc6152's post is doing using the built-in service technician diagnostic and maintenance software.) For a solution, see page 194 of the 2019 Lexus ES 350 Navigation and Multimedia System Owner's Manual:

Stop the vehicle, and turn the steering wheel as far as it will go to the left and right.

If this does not resolve the symptom, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
Since you changed the battery, you may also need to add in an additional initialization found in the instructions on page 223 of the 2019 Lexus ES350 Owner's Manual:

If a battery terminal has been disconnected and reconnected

The system needs to be initialized. To initialize the system, drive the vehicle straight ahead for 5 seconds or more at a speed of approximately 22 mph (35 km/h) or more. Additionally, for vehicles with the Parking Support Brake function, turn the steering wheel fully to the left and right with the vehicle stopped.
