Renting a late model Nissan Rogue with CVT. Wow, I had forgotten what it is like to have a smooth responsive acceleration. What a pleasure! No hesitation and no jerking. I have less than 11k miles on my 2020 ES and I have decided to get rid of it. It is work driving that car. Good riddance.
Yep that might be the top reason I love my ES hybrid, no lag, no shifting, just step on it and go, it's wonderful, Tesla-like in terms of smoothness, just not in acceleration. I don't think I'll ever buy a new (multiple gear) transmission vehicle again in my life, they are such antiques.

I have the es350 2023. I don't seem to have any lag or shifting issues. it is quiet from inside

I had that issue on my '19. My '23 drives smooth as it should.
I'm a complainer about the jerky trans but the CVTs I've driven are no joy either.
I am not advocating CVT’s. Simply remarking about the major difference between the two vehicles. I did not realize how my 2020 ES was wearing on me until I drove another vehicle with smooth responsive acceleration.
I hear you when it comes to annoying jerking. quite a few of my cars had this from many brands. even BMW. some unexplainable jerk no one could delay. you shouldn't have to have to learn to "drive around it" and tune yourself to the car -- which i did with my brake judder hybrids or past cars. Then there's when the gas engine kicking on in a hybrid.. which is annoying but i can deal with. I'd rather deal with the hybrid ICE-kick on jerk and low speed brake thuds which sent shockwaves through the cabin of both my 21 ES hybrids (see prior post about it) than the auto trans from the 350.
Driving my EV has been the most satisfying car experience ever. Seamless, silent, with incredible power. zero delay, zero lag. everything is velvety smooth. and wow are the brakes perfect, particularly as they blend regen and friction brakes. there's zero indication.

it's fascinating how jumping into another car can reset your perspective. I did have a murano rental once... my CT200h F Sport was in the body shop. honestly i felt like my CT200h was this cheap aging econobox. i can't believe how smooth and refined it felt compared to a brand new 5 year newer Murano. that was after 30 days of my car being repaired. i was happy to be back in my "cheap" CT. was dog slow though.. super apparent lol.
Just got my 2023 ES350 a couple weeks ago. So far the transmission is silky smooth. I have been babying it so far but no jerkiness at all noticed so far.

I'm sure it's been refined since 2019. Don't baby it

My '22 ES 350 has absolutely no problems of this kind. Smooth, luxurious and quick engine performance.
My 2021 is a little jerky when I first start out in the morning. In now time, it all disappears and everything is smooth, powerful and quiet. I can live with that.
