So, are expensive ($300 and up) batteries really not worth it? Is Costco battery with warranty the way to go for peace of mind and the most cost effective?

Your best bet is talk to a stereo shop. they install those battery packs and should be able to tell you if it will help your situation. you could possibly kill your alternator if you're requiring it to charge your battery frequently.

2019 ES350 here. I use the same dash cam w/ park mode and also a radar detector that are both hardwired. I sometimes get slight hesitation such as the steering doing a half second pause midway of extending out or cluster flashing once but that be from not driving Mon-Fri. I usually only drive Sat and Sun. If you're driving it more frequent than me, then it's definitely a battery problem and you should get it replaced whether it's through warranty or a new one. Don't get the extra external battery pack thing...that's ridiculous.

I've been just using the Interstate battery from Costco and it's been rock solid for me. I have a Subwoofer installed in my car, (only like 300W), and I haven't had any issues with the drain from that or from the hardwired dashcam. I also have a radar detector and a couple 12v accessories plugged in.

I think you'll be fine with the cheapest one you can get at Costco. It comes with the 3 year warranty and should be good to go.

It's like a hardwired pack that you wire to the camera instead of having it go directly into a fuse/always on power source. They usually charge while you drive and then it powers your dashcam while you are parked and the vehicle is off. Some people do this over hard-wiring their dashcam to an always on power source.

Thanks both for explaining

I had a classic 1966 Corvette with a battery from Costco that lasted 9 years... My wife's factory battery (Honda) lasted 3 years and I bought an Interstate from Costco. That was 7 years ago... My '98 Corvette is going on 6 years with an Interstate. They have my vote. I've been lucky but one can get a clunker too....

I have a 2019 and this texas heat is making my battery do its final dance. Losing memory seat setting, struggling at start up, forgetting my hud display. Crazy that an OEM battery is literally over $1k on the Lexus parts site, although they have 17% off so if you need some other parts, nows the time. probably going to go with an Advance auto battery for the four year warranty. BUT looking at the H6 grouping (had to use a camry for search) for Interstate costco batteries, three year 760 CCA is 170, about 50 cheaper than the top Orielly's/advance price. Costco is pretty competitive.

Well just talked with parts. 140 for battery. P/n 00544MFH60. Said it’s a 7 year warranty although I’m not sure if that’s accurate.

Just a note hybrid people shouldn't have to replace their batteries as often. much like german cars, the battery is in the trunk in a cool place. so the heat has less of an effect. also i imagine the hybrid system is less demanding since the big HV battery does more of the heavy lifting by stepping down the voltage.

good idea sourcing the camry battery. might be a way to get it at a proper price. $140 is good.

If it's like my under warranty Lexus OEM replacement battery warranty, 2 years full replacement final 5 years prorated.

Just get a yellow top optima battery! I changed mine after it kept dying on me as well. I also had a dash cam at the time and I also had aftermarket subwoofer in the trunk.

I need to replace our battery. The battery was dead after just 10 minutes of going through menus without the engine running. My question - Costco has both a standard and an AGM battery in the Group H6(48) size batteries, my OEM battery is not AGM, but I'm guessing that installing an AGM will be an upgrade and fully compatible with a V6 FSport. Does that make sense?

Probably not just the screen but A/C and Lights and other electronics & controls drained it out. You may just recharge it and the battery might still work fine, how old is it?

Costco doesn't install Battery but you can call your local Costco and they will verify with for you...

Thanks - I understand that Costco doesn't install batteries, I can do it. My question is regarding AGM batteries and if they are a good optional replacement for the standard acid flooded battery for a 2019 Lexus ES 350?
