Default Lexus Advisory Board

I’m curious if anyone currently participates or has participated in the Lexus Advisory Board. Previously I was a participant when I had my 2019 Lux. They just invited me back a year after having my 2022 Ultra Lux.
I contributed for about 2 years and now I’m participating again. I found it very interesting to get a glimpse into the potential direction and possible future plans based on the questions asked. Some really go in-depth.
Based on my experience, the only way to join is by invitation and once you remove yourself or are removed, you can’t request to be added back until invited. I made the mistake of informing them I had sold my 2019 after I received my 2022 and they removed me. I only now, 1 year later, was invited back.

Yes, I have been a member since shortly after purchasing the 2015 ES. I just assumed they sent an invite to all new owners. Perhaps its only to repeat buyers of the brand?

From what I've read and feedback from other owners, not everyone is invited. I've been selected twice but I have no idea the exact criteria they base their selection on. I do know that you must meet certain eligibility requirements for certain questionnaires and surveys in order to participate. They base it on various demographic and possible socioeconomic statuses along with regional statistics.

I recently received an invite after buying my (first) Lexus last October. It wasn't really clear what it is - do they send surveys or something?

They emailed me an invitation. I assumed it was a standard market research panel thing, I’ve done one before for my own industry mostly for the free lunch.

Yes, surveys for market research and gauging interest in future products, services, and tech. I found it interesting and it gives some insight into the direction they are pursuing regarding aspects of the future of their products and services.

Just received the invitation last week. It said I was accepted and welcomed me. I’ll be interested to see how his plays out.

Just a heads up, how you respond to the intro demographic questions can dictate whether or not you are deemed appropriate for each survey, if that makes any sense. There were a few times I was rejected or disqualified from participating in a survey due to my answers for the introductory questions.

For example, if the survey is primarily predicated on information from a hybrid owner, and you have a V6, it’s likely going to reject you for the survey. Unless the survey is more fact-finding of interest for hybrid vehicles, so it just varies.

I think I’d rather have my second key fob for the car I bought at full MSRP back in December then give them free advice on profitability right now. Or maybe a couple free replacement soft rubber dash pieces that scratch when a fly lands on them.

Sounds like a perfectly legitimate gripe….for another thread. 😜

Multi billion dollar company asking for free help after a record year? Seems like a decent spot to point out a grievance.

Not so. As a token of their appreciation, when you complete this survey you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three Amazon.com gift cards.
  • One grand prize - $500
  • Two runner-up prizes - $250 each
Ha! 😀

In all seriousness I understand your frustration about the key fob situation. I would likely feel the same way but it’s not really germane to this threads topic.

I was "invited" back in Oct 2018, after purchasing one of the earliest '19 F Sports. The surveys are interesting, generally asking about improving features and adding options. Asked frequently is whether you'd pay for this or that type of service or tech advancement.

They also periodically ask (check) to see if you're familiar with the options on the car you own, and just like any survey, they'll phrase the question differently further in on the questionnaire. So you better remember your $h*t.

I believe if you skip one survery, they don't send another.
