And, since your ES didn't come with the option, they wouldn't do anything either way. It's a nice thing to have, but not worth what it would take to hack it together. Just pray for global warming and enjoy your Lexus!

You can look at heated wiper blades at this site. I have not used or installed them, so I don't know how well they work.

My main misgiving regarding the wiper heaters is that Lexus does not let the
car control them remotely or thermostatically. It would seem so simple for the
grid to be powered when the temp is below, say 32 degrees... The CT200h
and RC models have the switches I referenced right inside the drivers door
so you can tap them WITHOUT needing to get inside with cold, wet coat and
boots to screw around with 1) Menu button, 2) Climate screen, 3) Submenu
button, 4) Wiper Heater Button all while the car is warming up after being
restarted because the #$%^ remote system cuts off when the door opens!

You make several very good points in your post. Having to go in thru several layers to simply turn on the heaters is ridiculous. The wiper heater should engage when the outside rearview mirror defrosters come on. Adding that the engine turns off and has to be restarted after RS is used is another negative. I'm hoping that Lexus makes some needed changes with their accessories and electronic menus. Remote start and folding mirrors is high on my list...
