Default Unreliable Bloothtooth Connection

Occasionally when I start my car my phone won't connect and the only way to get a connection is to restart the car. Trying to connect through the system doesn't work.
Sometimes I have to restart the car several times to get a connection.
Anyone else experiencing this? The phone is an iPhone 6
Never happens on RX only the car.

Yes, I have had the same thing happen although not very often with an older phone and I too am able to get it to work by restarting the car - sometimes more than once. I have never been able to establish a relationship to anything and because it is so intermittent I have never mentioned it when the car was in for service.

Never had it occur on our RX or the ES. My wife and I both have iPhone 6 models as well. I wouldn't necessarily discount the phone as the culprit though. Next time it occurs try restarting the phone with the hard reset instead of the car.

Have you tried un-pairing and re-pairing? Meaning, delete the phone and then add it back.

my screen was occasionally frozen when it was connected to the Samsung galaxy S4. You should try pressing and holding the PWR-VOL button about few seconds, it will hard reboot the system without turn off the engine and also it will save a error code (I guess) for dealer to identify the problem.

I believe it's probably your cell that may be the issue. As others have said, try rebooting the cell and unpairing and again pairing the cell. Certain android and iPhone updates can also cause havoc with the Bluetooth and other phone operations to the car. Good luck .

I have tried un-pairing several times but I haven't done so with the motor running. I'll try that. I will also try the PWR-VOL next time it happens. Another thing I'm planning on trying this weekend is to switch phones with my husband and see how his phone (iPnone 5) does. His phone isn't paired to my car.
It's very annoying to have the phone ringing in my purse and not through Bluetooth.

Sound similar to our situation, where is your phone charging station in the house? Ours is in
the kitchen less than 30 feet (Bluetooth range) from the garage. Mrs. parks the car and sets
her phone down in the kitchen still turned on. I get in the car and fire her up and am greeted
by a nice "Bluetooth Connection Successful"...her phone... 31 feet down the driveway it drops
her phone but doesn't trill or flash any sort of warning.
Only when I: 1) try to make/take a call or
2) bring up the phone screen "Phone Not Connected" do I realize I'm out of touch.
Workaround is to turn off the phone Bluetooth when changing drivers or charging phones

Apple has Bluetooth issues. Try repairing a few times. Also as a workaround, swipe up from the bottom of your iphone 6 to bring up the control panel. Turn Bluetooth off and then on again and see if it connects.
Also, check in your Lexus bluetooth settings under your device. Make sure it is set to aurmatically connect for phone.
Supposedly having an additional device paired by the car, even if never used, helps.
Update you phone to ios 9 if you havent yet they constantly tweak the Bluetooth.

I can't count the number of times I've gone to move my wife's CR-V, and all of a sudden been in the middle of a conversation with someone. I wish there was a dedicated button to turn the car's BT off for instances such as this.

I know... Opposite problem and different vehicle.

roxy, any update?
