Hi there!

I got this vehicle and been stuck with the dvd player that I won't let me see the video while in motion. When the brake pedal is pressed, the video shows up. Asking for experienced help to hack this system. I'd be very much appreciated all your advice. thank you

I think many will agree that it makes sense not to be watching video while driving.

if you're concerned about passengers watching a movie then you need monitors on the back of the headrests that play separately from the nav screen. other than that i don't see any sense driving while the dvd is playing up front.

Wouldn't watching videos while driving be a bit of a safety issue?
You want to hack the system to put others in danger.

"When the brake pedal is pressed, the video shows up." It is my understanding the the emergency brake needs to be on and the car must be in park in order for the video to play. The salesman demo'd this for me and it would not play otherwise, although audio will play while driving.

Will the base model (non-ML) play an MP3 DVD? Or does it have to be an actual DVD movie? Just wondering. My car doesn't arrive for a couple of weeks, so I'm busy researching.

it's not ML that has the dvd playback. It is the navigation package.

i tested it with display audio. it doesn't even play audio tracks from a dvd (ie - just the sound from a dvd movie)

that was one of the reasons that i got the nav, despite liking separate nav systems more.
