This looks like a good deal for a remote start install. Back in 2014 I had a system installed on my 2013 Lux for $300.00 and it wasn't plug and play... IIRC Lexus wanted somewhere around $750.00... I'd look into this system...

Nice part about this system is no wire splicing required, its a true plug and play.

This only applies to 2013-2014 ES350 owners, I bought PT398-33131 from Bell Lexus in 2/2021, it was on sale during their Valentines week sale for 60 bucks. This was an extremely easy install, then a 10 minute job of initializing it using tech stream. Right now the price is 286.60, it’s still so much easier it might be worth the difference in price because of the saved time installing it. It only applies to 2013-2014 ES350, FYI. Frank. You could reach out to their parts and ask if they think it will be on sale again this winter, I’m thinking they want to unload inventory because they aren’t going to sell these much longer.

Is there any way to bypass the car shutting off when the driver door is opened? There must be a way to add a relay somewhere or do something to stop this ridiculous behavior.

Probably because they don't know any different. It's silly for the car to shut off right when you get in and want to LEAVE!

I'd rather have remote start than not, but still. Dumb.

AFAIK Toyota is the only one that has the electronics wired this way. Most, if not all, manufacturers allow the engine to run when the door is opened. A major complaint on the forum...

Those of you who have installed the 12volt solutions remote, what are your impressions?

Thanks,

We ordered the auto start with the app. My husband has watched several videos and said it's going to be more complicated than expected. Also they do not have a video for my make/model. Not sure if he is going to do it or if we should find someone to do the install.

bell Lexus sent me the instructions with the kit I bought, I still have them. I’m at work and the hurricane is gonna hot late tomorrow. I’ll try to hunt them up, probably like 4 pages, not a hard job, had to remove the passenger knee airbags and partial glove box and lower panel. Lemme know if you want them
