Offset for new wheels?
Hey folks, I’ve recently purchased a 2018 es350, and I’m looking to purchase an extra set of wheels so I can rotate winter/summer.
The car currently has the optional 18” wheels that I think (please correct me if I’m wrong) are 7 1/2” wide with a 45mm offset.
The wheels I’m looking at are 18’s with an 8” width and 35mm offset.
I definitely don’t want the wheels protruding, and because the new wheels will be a half inch wider and 10mm more offset, my concern is the may stick out. Btw the tires will be the stock 18” sizes.
I’d certainly appreciate some help from some of the more experienced members, thanks in advance for any helpful comments.

Am I missing something? New wheels are 18x8” et45 and stock is same but 1/2 inch narrower so how are the new wheels 10mm lower in offset?
if the new wheels are a 1/2 wider with same offset than Id be more concerned with the inside of the wheels rubbing on struts. Et 45 will not stick out btw.
Can you ask the wheel seller if these are direct fitment and if they have pictures of them installed?

Since offset is the difference between the mounting surface and the center of the rim width, your 8” rim will protrude 1/4” beyond your 7-1/2” rim in both outer and inner directions. Are you using the comparison tool at https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?whe...cl=50mm&sr=0mm ?

@Tootsall thanks for the link, yes I've found that site. I'll have to check the fender clearance of the original wheel and tire set up.

PS, here's a link to the calculator with my numbers plugged in, the only thing I'm not sure of is the fender clearance. I'm picking the car up later today so I should be able to measure that and get a better number (I used 30mm fender clearance in the calculator, but have no idea right now if that's even close).
Thanks again for any ideas or advice.

OEM 40mm offset isn't too far from the advertised 35mm offset of these repro wheels, but combined with the slightly wider wheel they'll definitely protrude a bit further.
I'd definitely consider picking up another set of the factory 18" wheels, but I'm hesitant on trusting what I see on ebay, etc. Dose anyone have a place they could recommend for a good set of unbent factory wheels?
I use a set of programmable Autel sensors on my second set of wheels without any problems (the tire dealer “read” the oem codes and programmed the same ids into the Autels); but different people on here have reported grief getting anything but oem to work. The key is to get a set that can be matched to the id codes of your existing oems or you will need to get the dealer to reprogram the car’s computor every time you switch wheels. The ES can only handle one set of codes unlike some other models that will take two sets of codes. At seasonal change I just mount the second set of wheels, make sure the pressures are right, hit the reset button under the dash and that’s it. As I warned, others haven’t been as lucky (or didn’t get a knowledgeable tire technition to do the supply/install).
