Default Maintenance Mileage Interval

I get my oil changed at Toyota and on the last couple of oil changes, they've been saying 10k on the sticker but yet the book says 5k, which is it? I had been going 5k.

What are you driving? 6th gen ES's have always been 10k miles in the US.

Refer to post #2... Suggested mileage interval is 10,000 miles or one year whichever comes first... However, you can change it earlier if you choose...

When I first got my 2016 ES 350 I was confused too since the manual says 5,000 miles and everyone here said 10,000 miles and then I actually read the manual, the 5,000 mile intervals are just for inspection and no oil change, the oil changes are at every 10k.

maybe oil change is every 10K, but manual wants you to bring your car to dealer every 5K for some $$$

Maintenance schedule says every 10K, but I change mine every 5K. Old habits are hard to break.

That would take me years! I just stopped for gas the other day. It was the first time since March.

I change my oil annually.

Yea, I hear you. =) But I take my 2014 in every 5K partly for piece of mind that things are still working. I'm at 85...I mean 85K for the car! (Not me, you silly!) Note that you get the inspection (yea!?) plus tire rotation and all fluids topped off at the "odd 5K" maintenance. So squirt the windshields all you want! LOL! Yea, a few $$$, but....

Not necessary with modern synthetic oil... Once a year or 10k whichever comes first. Anything else wastes oil...
