2016 ES 300H - remote start
I picked up a used es300h, great mileage and price...love it! I know there's a way to active the remote start on the vehicle without paying for the annual subscription? Does anyone know what's the process for remote starting with the keyfob?

You need to pay for the subscription, or the fob method will not work. Or, get an aftermarket starter installed.

When the car was new the Safety Connect (overhead SOS button) was comp for a year and then $149/year.
The Enform Remote Start was also included (and Destination Assist if equipped with Navigation) for the first year.
Those additional services were $100/year each back then. Total for Remote Start was then $249/year.
Lexus lowered the prices last year to $80/year for each feature so now if you want just SOS (I read your post and
realize that you do not...) it is $80, the LERS is now just $160 and the Destination Assist (I do not have) is $80 more.
Perhaps you can justify the Safety Connect when you consider that the built in phone has a 3/4 watt phone (ours are 1/3 watt),
the system can find your stolen or wrecked car and your phone can be dead or out of range and the cars phone will likely
get through. The stronger phone uses the metal roof mounted antenna rather than our "belt or purse" mounted antenna...
Be aware that the Lexus Enform App Suite (not LEAS 2.0 BTW) is free forever. If you have Nav, download and sign in
to put the power and voice recognition of your phone to work with the Nav.

Unfortunately, no. This has been a subject of much debate and angst in the past. It is actually cheaper now than it was previously since they no longer require the safety connect has to be bundled with remote start. Just search the forum for “remote start” and you will find numerous threads in each of the Lexus subforums.

I had a 2013 ES and didn't want to pay Lexus for a RS system. I purchased an aftermarket system and used it for 6 years... Cost was $300.00. The range was better than the factory RS system, used the factory fob, and after initial installation it was FREE...
Lexus remote start system and folding mirrors (lack of) are complaints #1 and 2...
