Default Luxcare - do it or not?

I have seen where many of you have had a clear bra installed on your ES. I plan to do the same. The dealer offered Luxcare for both the interior and exterior. I this the same thing? If not, is it worth the money?

Thanks for your wisdom on this one,
-Lisa

A clear bra is different than Luxcare, I believe. Here's what I found on the web on Luxcare

Something similar was offered to me when I got my car, but I declined. I mean, it's something that's just sprayed on. Even if you did pay for it, would you be able to tell if they actually put it on thoroughly or even at all?

I would just say "no" to this offer. You don't need it.

Thank you, I was wondering if I could spray scotch guard on the mats myself for $20.

Does the clear bra affect the way the paint wears vs. where it is not applied after years in the sun?

I got the bra specifically to protect my car against bug stains in the summer while driving down the highway. Where I live, the bug stains are yellow abs nasty, and even worse during night time driving.

I would ask to see how much they would charge you for the clear bra. The super-negotiators here have gotten it for free, otherwise, I've seen quotes between 600-1400 from the dealership and about 700 from independent shops

I live in Colorado and here, you absolutely need the clear bra on your car. If you don't, you end up with rock chips all over the front of your hood.

I always do the clear bra after market, most places around here charge about $200.... whereas the dealer charges $700.

The guy who put on mine for my Lexus told me he charges the dealership $350 and the dealership charges the customer $700... he charged me $195.

Yes, I do always spray all of the mats etc. including the trunk with scotchgard as soon as I get a new car. One can (blue for carpets) does the entire car for less than $10.

Exterior, I just keelp clean and claybar and wax or sealer about every 6 months.

Ah, $200 would've been a great price to pay I guess that's the beauty of competition. I had mine done at the dealership before I took delivery so it was "perfect " underneath
