Does anybody know how to get rid of or change this ambient light that comes on at the top of the dash board while driving. It literally bothers me to the point of feeling nauseated because it bothers my eyes.
I'm test driving a 2015 ES and i might pass on it if i can't get this light to not come on (or at least lower the intensity). Any ideas???
I'm pretty sure you can turn it off in the settings menu inside the instrument cluster using the DISP button on the steering wheel. I believe it's under the Meter menu. Should be 5 different options involving the ECO light. Vehicle needs to be stopped to access the settings menu.

I decided to pass on the car after taking it for inspections. Dealer was still trying to get me to negotiate on it if he fixed everything. I told him i wasn't interested. (Emission issues and key fob communication issues- plus while driving I found 3 of the windows didn't work from the driver's side as if the window lock was on but it wasn't- the windows still rolled down at the respective door though).
In any case, now that i know the dash light can be turned off or down, I'll look at another model in this generation to test and hopefully purchase! 😊

If the Dealer fixes everything, and the car passes inspections, and IF the price is right, wouldn't it be better than getting a similar car that might have similar problems that haven't manifested themselves yet!
At least you would have new parts installed, and you'd already know the true condition of the car.

This sounds like the car has a new car battery replaced or the battery was disconnected and each windows needs to go thruough steps in order for the window to be controlled again from the driver door panel.

Yikes I have no idea how to do that. Where can I find those steps so that I can know what to do in case I need it in the future.?

Well my issue with this scenario was that A.) There's no telling exactly what would need to be fixed to get it to pass emissions. Maybe its just a sensor, maybe its other major components. That was a rabbit hole I didn't want to pursue. On top of that, who knows if they would even "fix it properly".
That said, the car had 80k miles on it, and already having emission issues ? Ehhhhh.,....! Which leads me to B.) The fact that the dealer was trying to sell the car in THAT condition (meaning emissions and windows not working, keys not working etc), and then was upset that I didn't want to pay HIS full price for the car. It makes me feel like that wasn't someone worth doing business with. Know what I mean?
Otherwise, unless he was willing to come way down on the price I'm not trying to walk out with a headache.
