I have a 2013 ES300H, I replaced the rear exterior door handle due to clear coat peeling. After I assembled the door and handle, the new handle doesn’t recognize it being touched to lock/ unlock and when I attempt to lock the car from another handle the doors won’t lock and and the car emits a long beep. Does the new handle need to be coded to the car or is it perhaps defective? Or did I miss something when reinstalling?

Yeah, I think there's a short to the circuit. Maybe you did not connect everything.

What is the situation with you dome light? Does it stay on all the time?
