Default Brake Calipers Replacement

What other Lexus models (including year) calipers can be used in the front on a 2009 ES? What else is needed, example a new bracket, different rotors? Any other mod needed to make the calipers fit?

Thank you.

The Lexus ES has unique brake calipers, they don’t fit to other Lexus models.

I would think Avalon/Camry calipers would be a better bet from a cross shopping perspective. What exactly are you trying to do? replace your worn out units or somehow improve the brake system?

Both. Replace because one of the calipers may be sticking so am thinking of going with something better. I have my 2006 SC calipers available as well as from a 1997 Supra. This coming weekend, I intend to spend sometime pulling out the old calipers to determine what to do.

Thank you!

Have you checked the caliper guide pins as they are often a cause of sticking calipers and are easily cleaned and lubricated.

If you really need a caliper:

The 2007-2011 model years Toyota Camry takes the same brake calipers as the ES350 and they are built on the same platform or chassis. You can find used ones on eBay, or rebuilt aftermarket ones at most auto parts stores. It is a common part.

I doubt it is worth the aggravation to find some other cailper to maybe improve braking. You would also need a new bracket, rotors and maybe other parts. Why not just get some better brake pads that stop faster than OEM? Maybe EBC Green Stuff, or Powerstop Z23 or Raybestos EHT (which I am running and like very much)
