VSC stands for Vehicle Stability Control. It's a program that helps regulate your shocks, and brakes during emergency maneuvers. It comes on when the computer detects some kind of problem.
It's on all the time. The computer turns it OFF when there is a code thrown. Is the CEL on, too? It could also be on due to a sensor or VSC system issue.
