Default Take rear rotor out

So one of my wheel stud snapped when i did tire rotation the other day.

Can someone provide me instruction on how to take out the rear rotor?

I had the caliper and caliper bracket out but what's next ?
Do I loosen up the rotor with the two empty bolt holes with the M8-1.25 bolts(I think I can also use a hammer on this as well) or take the rubber cover off and use a flat head screw driver to loosen up the e brake first? (The star or whatever that calls)

Do I need to put the car on N for this?

Take it off with a hammer, but the two bolts is the easier smarter option and the rotor should pop off. It will depend how rusted on it is, but I feel like you should take it to someone to do if you are asking if you need to put the car in neutral to take off a rotor.

Haha I was watching some YouTube video about putting it to N.

Don't I have to loose up the e-brake first with the flat head screw driver before taking out the rotor ?

Your instinct is correct! Please don't do what the guy above told you, you will actually damage the rotor and the bearing most likely

Make sure parking brake (PKB) is released, not engaged. In your photo, at around 4 o'clock position on the front face of the rotor, there is a rubber plug with a slot in it, take it out, then rotate the rotor so that the hole is at about 6-7 o'clock position. There is a star adjuster for PKB, use a flat head screwdriver to turn it (up-down), keep turning it to compress the shoes for PKB. Once loose enough, the rotor will come off easily. Any Qs, feel free to DM/PM me or ask here

I think you are confusing this with front rotors. Rear rotors may come off with a hammer, but with it so will PKB shoes and other hardware, and you will need a very large hammer to make it come off

Thats only if the parking brake isn't properly adjusted in the first place

True, and if it is, then it needs to be done via the star adjuster... When I did mine, rear brakes were roughly 8-9 years old and a nice lip formed on the inside edge by the shoes, and the shoes had to be pulled in a LOT in order to overcome the lip as well...

Skip to 3:00. At 5:00 he shows how to loosen the inside adjusters. Guess I got lucky, at 170K, my rotors slid right off. I replaced with cheap $26 DuraGo rotors, BR900342; they are holding up well and stopped the shuddering when braking at speed.
