Ignition coil replacement
I just purchased my first Lexus- a 2007 GS 350 with 25,000 (extremely low) miles. I had it a week and it had a VSC code show up. Took it in for service and learned that it was an ignition coil. Two weeks later threw another code and learned this time it was a valve position sensor. I purchased a Lexus because of the reputation for a long running quality automobile. Is it possible that the age and low miles are causing these type of odd things to go bad?

VSC - vehicle stability control, where are they getting ignition coil failure from?

The VSC code, based upon other Lexus posters in this group, seems to be emissions related. That is what the dash said when the issue occurred- 'Check VSC' along with the check engine and traction lights.
Acronyms can certainly be misleading!

No VSC is a vehicle stability control and is not related to emissions.
From what i gathered what seems to happen - when check engine light comes on for other reasons (could be emissions, catalytic converter etc) - the car disables VSC/TRAC systems so that the user does not ignore the problem.

Dealer fixed the VSC code (they referenced it in the paperwork). Ended up being a oil control valve. All good to go now. Thanks for everybody's help.
