I have a 2011 ES 350 and want to update the navigation maps.
i understand I need to purchase a 2016 map disc and install it.
In order to do that I need to remove the old disc.
How do you REMOVE THE PLASTIC PIECE under the touch screen so I can swap them out?

I saw this video before but don't understand how to remove the plastic piece. I keep trying but it won't budge.

 

It's just clipped on, you pry it off. Mine was rather tight as well, but eventually it came off.

EDIT: Just noticed you said 2011 ES, that means your navigation is hard drive based. Should be updated via USB.

Can I do the USB INSTALL?

 

AFAIK, no it's dealer only. It's a three part process, Toyota Techstream, NAV Update Tool and USB.

 

The gray plastic rectangle with Lexus on it just slides UP. I can just use my thumbs or fingers to press it in (to get a grip) while pushing upwards. You could probably use a putty knife under it but it really isn't necessary (and you could mar the plastic).
