Just exactly what is the Lexus NX? A sedan? A successor to ES350?

It's a RAV4 with Lexus touches and additions. Meant to fill that hot compact SUV segment.

My wife has one. Nice vehicle.

 

No no no... It only shares about 3-5% of components with the Rav4. They're similar in size and architecture, but that's it. The turbo 4 cylinder engine was designed unique for the NX (took 9 years to develop) and is now being deployed across the Lexus fleet.

It's a luxury compact utility vehicle. NOT a simple rebaged Rav, like if Ford did it

 

Sorry, I did not state this well. I meant it's built on the RAV4 platform.

I did not mean to suggest it's a rebadged RAV4.

Believe me, I test drove both.
