Trailer hitch on a ES350 ?
HI so I am thinking about wanting to find a trailer hitch to put on my ES350
no, i don't want to tow a car trailer or a boat or even a small usual trailer like for moving lol.
what I do want is to be able to attach one of those cargo baskets that you see every now and then that people put their coolers or other items on for when traveling.
or to be able to get a bike rack that attaches by a trailer hitch or to even be able to pull a small trailer with a snowmobile for the winter or a 4 wheeler for the summer if it needs to go to the shop or go somewhere that I can't drive it.
but I am not planning to move 1500 pounds or anything like that.
but I am wondering what should I get.
and can I find something and have it installed for less than 200 dollars?
is there a towing capacity that is safe to pull on the 2007 ES 350?

I have a hidden hitch for hauling my 16' Wayfarer dinghy to and from cottage, hauling my motorcycle around, and the occasional bike rack use, No problems. Looks something like this.
http://www.hiddenhitch.com
The owners manual has 6-7 pages on towing, says the gross wt of trailer and cargo should not exceed 1000 lbs, => class 1 hitch
damn oldgrump is fast on the trigger

Ok, thank you, I have to get a new Owners Manual I don't know where mine is and I usually never misplace that cause it always stays in the glove back.
What about trans cooler or something liek that ? will I need to get a cooler installed or a radiator with a TOW package?
when I look on amazon and that for a hitch all I was showing where class II hitches what is the different between a 1 and II class

Hitch classes are based on weight capacity and width opening of the receiver. Check this out for more details: http://www.etrailer.com/faq-hitchclasses.aspx
If you are simply looking to haul around a small carrier or bikes, weight isn't the primary concern. You will want to match receiver size to whatever you are planning to attach.
As for transmission coolers, it doesn't sound like you need one. It's only really required if you plan on hauling more than the recommended weight or you live in an area with a lot of steep hills. Frankly, I'll be surprised if you can get one for the ES. It's not a typical tow vehicle but you never know.
