Rusting nuts on door handles
My 2010 ES has started developping streaks down the door handle after I've finished washing the car. Took it in to a detailer hoping he would tell me what I was doing wrong. Instead he told me that he sees this problem on Lexus vehicles. He says when lifting slowly on the handle and looking underneat it, you will notice a small piece of rubber that covers the nuts holding the door handle. He says the nuts are rusting and this is what causes the streaking. He says this is a problem and Lexus has not adressed it, if it goes over the car's 48 month warranty. Does anybody else have this problem? Not interested in having all 4 door panels removed and replacing the nuts on all handles.

The issue has been going on for years. Toyota's too. Search for Ru5Ty posting. He provides an excellent summary. I know it has been a while, how did you resolve the problem? Has Lexus stepped up for this problem?
